"Obama in the Footsteps of Bush on the Macedonia Name Issue"
The United States is not going to change policy toward ANYTHING regarding Greece, for as long as the Greek politicians (i.e. MFA, MoD, MoI) do not change their docile demeanor and stand up for their country. They are all pathetic and sorry s.o.b.'s.

Unattributed report: "Obama in the Footsteps of Bush on the Macedonia Name Issue"
New President of the United States Barack Obama is not willing to give presents to Greece regarding the claims of Athens for finding a mutually acceptable name for Macedonia.
The firm position in question of the United States was apparent yesterday [ 11 May] in the statement that was issued in Brussels by Assistant Secretary of State in charge of the Balkans Stewart Jones. He made the statement in view of the scheduled (for June) visit of US vice President Joe Biden in the region.
Jones reassured that the policy of the new US President in the Macedonia name issue will move along the same lines as his predecessor George W. Bush.
He also reiterated the wish of his country that Macedonia accede both to NATO as well as to the European Union, while on the issue of the negotiations between Athens and Skopje, the Assistant Secretary of State stressed that the two sides must focus their efforts on the issue of the name, excluding from the dialogue all the other issues --issues that are raised by Macedonia.
